Message-ID: <007901d340ef$1ef1a270$5cd4e750$@gmail.com> My V-RES sits on the floor in my garage. Instead of leaving it on the ground (and likely sitting on flat tires), I'm looking for a way to raise my V-REX off the garage floor for the time being. A wall hanger or floor to ceiling post system won't work for me, as the bike is awfully wide and an I don't have the ceiling space. What I'm looking is a way to leave the bike where it is on the floor, but up enough the weight of the bike isn't on the tires. Any thoughts or ideas? Message-ID: Does this (semi?) organized ride still exist? Thanks, Eric (riding a recumbent trike these days...) ------------------------- >From the WHIRL home page: *What is WHIRL?* No dues, no clubs, no meeting, no organization. You might think that it must be an organization to have a Web Page! Wrong! This site is unapproved, unorganized, and unofficial! WHIRL (Washington's Happily Independent Recumbent Lovers) is a group of recumbent riders that meets *every Saturday* for a 24 mile ride through Rock Creek Park. This ride has been ongoing since 1991. After the ride, some of the riders usually go out for lunch afterward. Starting on Memorial Day Weekend 2007 the ride will begin at 8 A.M. The start time will continue to be at 8 over the summer and then the start will change to 9 A.M. on Labor Day weekend until the following Memorial Day weekend. (Previously the ride times had followed daylight savings time changes, but these new times were agreed upon in March 2007.) The starting point is the Viers Mill Recreation Center parking lot on Garrett Park Road in Maryland. To reach this lot, you go north on Beach Drive (the main road through Rock Creek Park) until it dead- ends. Turn right, and the parking area is immediately on your left. Click here for a map to the starting point. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Someone else of a philosophical bent replied that the ride always took place even if nobody showed up to ride. I believe the ride still exists in that philosophical sense, but I don?t think people have been participating in it since winter last year, as riders have aged out, moved away, quit riding, or just moved on to other routes and times. If you would like to actualize the virtual ride, hopefully some other riders will come out to join you.
