[Whirl] Riding across the U.S.

I don't really see all that many recumbents out here in the
Sharpsburg/Shepherdstown area but earlier today, I came upon a recumbent
rider who'd just rolled into Shepherdstown from Everett, WA on his way to
Raleigh, NC.

He asked me about the restaurant he had just parked in front of
(Betty's). I said I didn't really know about it as I never ate there.
Then I decided to see if he might be interested in joining me at the Blue
Moon as I was just on my way there to meet a friend for lunch. So he
headed on over there a couple of blocks away.

Anyway, Will was riding a Volae (not sure which model). Pic here of him
and bike in front of Betty's.

This was not his first time to make the trip. He'd done it 8 years ago on
the same bike. He reported that at home though, he pretty much stuck to
riding his upright. A few nights previous, on the only evening where he
didn't have somewhere arranged to stay, he'd run into a couple on the GAP
and ended up staying in an apartmment they told him about that had been
prepared for a couple who cancelled out at the last minute. I'm not sure
if they were refugees of some sort or not, but the place he stayed was a
part of or else just very close to http://cityofasylum.org/

(Had his first flat a couple of days ago. Was using Schwalbe Marathon
Plus tires.)
